This website is maintained by Susan Signe Morrison, author of A Medieval Woman’s Companion: Women’s Lives in the European Middle Ages, the history book inspired by this site. You can find out more about Susan and her other books here.
The short descriptions of women on this website suggest what A Medieval Woman’s Companion (the book) goes into more fully.
While the main pages of the website and the blog itself are maintained by Susan, the pages under one specific section, called “Student Pages,” were created by Susan’s students. They are graduate and undergraduates in the English Department at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, USA. Their quirky enthusiasm helps make those pages fun as well as informative. They also inspired me to write a book I felt high school students and college undergraduates needed.
You can read more about the students and how to use the “Student Pages” here.
